Re: FALLOUT 4 SETTING POSSIBILITIES

To be fair, there isn't a whole lot in most those places now, let alone after a nuclear holocaust.

Re: FALLOUT 4 SETTING POSSIBILITIES

^^^ since the game is set in an alternate universe, whatever the game makers decide to be there can be. maybe a secret enclave base under mt rushmore, or a idealistic mutant colony in the badlands....

Yeah, I guess.

I still think that NYC is the way to go.

Re: FALLOUT 4 SETTING POSSIBILITIES

The more I think of it, the more I like the idea of San Francisco. It's a beautiful and unique city, with plenty of memorable structure to draw from.

The only thing that concerns me about the west coast is the NCR. To be honest, I didn't much enjoy their influence in New Vegas and although I don't know exactly how far their territory extends in Fallout lore, I would imagine that they would play a major role in a game set in San Fran or even Seattle.

Re: FALLOUT 4 SETTING POSSIBILITIES

I disliked Fallout NV in many ways. The NCR and Legion were both bad and had few good ideas and mostly bad ideas. You had to pick the lesser of the two evils. Then Mr.House was some guy who wouldn't care about anything but the strip, and a little bit of the mojave wasteland. Yes Man was pretty stupid because once you gain control, you have no clue what to do and you separate control of the mojave wasteland, like Mr.House. They also made the Brotherhood of Steel look evil and bad, and much weaker. Fallout NV also had a bad atmosphere imo. You just are relaxing and partying and gambling and drinking with some gunplay in a not so harmed Las Vegas. Super Mutants and other mutations aren't a big thing also like radiation. Fallout 3 had more of an apocolyptic feeling, unlike NV. Fallout NV was still good in my opinion, and this is not a hate message towards Fallout NV, it did have some good things like ADS and weapon mods.

But for a Fallout 4 location Alaska would actually be good imo, because the great war did happen there too, and it would be very unique. And if Fallout 4 did take place before the great war, you should be able to play as the president's kid during that time, having to go to the presidential metro and get to adams air force base and fly to a new location, such as Moscow and Beijing, to kill the presidents of the countries. Just an idea, because Russia and China were the 2 main countries involved in the great war along with the United States of America.

^^^^ moscow and bejing would be 2 places u wouldnt want to escape to in a nuclear war between china, russia and the usa. alaska would be a good setting, in winter or in summer, maybe the old land bridge can appear and u could wander over to russia.

Re: FALLOUT 4 SETTING POSSIBILITIES

I'd like it to be either in a mountianous area (like the Appalacan Mts) or in a marsh-like setting (Florida everglades).  However what I think is that it'll be in one of 2 locations.

  • The Commonwealth.  it was Mentioned in Both Fallout 3 & in passing in FNV.   Or...
  • Navaro. it was a part of Ed-Es background & if what is/was said by both him & his Lonesome Road counterpart are true then there are Enclave remnants there.

I preferred FNV to Fallout 3 simply on the basis that it stuck with Fallout canon.
