Oblivion is definitely a better game than Skyrim in terms of performance, amount of quests, skills, attributes, amount of enemies, even combat. I recommend not getting the GOTY edition, because the GOTY edition has some serious bugs unique only to the GOTY edition of Oblivion, the vampirism glitch is one serious GOTY specific glitch that comes to mind. You're better off getting the Greatest Hits edition, which does contain the Knights of the Nine DLC on the disc and will only cost you $20. Shivering Isles is a fantastic DLC but with the amount of content the vanilla game has you probably won't miss it, unless you absolutely have to have all the DLC Bethesda gave the PS3 version. Fair warning though, if you buy the Greatest Hits edition and really want to buy the Shivering Isles DLC it will cost you another $32. Five years on the PSN store and the price of the DLC still hasn't dropped a nickle.

That sucks. Does the 360 version suffer from any of these glitches? I've not then I'll pick that version up instead. I want to experience
the most out of this game.
But from these reviews it looks like oblivion is pretty good. I was considering getting it before skyrim anyways, since I'm new
to the francise and Bethesda in general.
Also if I get this game preowned will it still include the 'goty edition' extras or does it have to be new?

Just bought Oblivion GOTY edition for $19.99 brand new . Looking at the back cover it says add on content and trophies so this edition does have trophies.

I think you'll find that is a misprint. There are no trophies for Oblivion.
