well, the subject says it all.
I'm trying to play DA2 but it is displaying as a 4x3 screen and I got two black bar on the right and left.
I'm trying to get the info from EA, but my question seem off limit for them, they don't really give any real answer.
can anyone assist on that?
Sounds like your using the basic composite cables that came with the system (Red,Yellow,White)
You need to use either an HDMI, or a set of Component cables.
There should be a setting for your T.V. that can "stretch" the image to 16:9.
I'm using a HDMI cable... all my other PS3 games play just fine in 16x9.
The video output settings of my PS3 are:
select the type of connector on your TV. :HDMI 1080i
I realy don't understand why...
I ran the select the type of connector on your TV, choose automatic detection, tured on a some hdmi options, and voila.
Thank you for you help,
I really appreciate.
There's a video setting on the PS3 that asks about whether SD video should be upscaled. For some reason, this sometimes seems to affect games, too. You can try changing this.
First though, I'd simply try going into your Display settings and reconfirming your TV settings. It sounds like the game isn't recognizing that you have 16:9 aspect ratio TV.
If that doesn't work, try going into your Saved Game data and deleting ONLY the save for DAII that says it's for game options, and also delete the game data file for the update.
This will force the game to rescan for system settings and should force it back into 16:9.
I found the same problem.
The solution is go to display settings in the xmb and set video output. after selecting your hd cable (hdmi or component) it will ask to select ALL display modes supported by your tv.
So just because you might have a 1080p tv you still have to select 720p for dragon age 2 to be widescreen.
