Re: issues about dmc5 & new dante

There are some things I would like to point out.

1.From what I've come to understand with Virgil, based on the Gamescom trailer, the TGS trailer, the DLC trailer, the wiki, and the concept art, he's not as much of a good guy as you may think.

2. While I have played the first four DMC games I've never played Heavenly Sword. Since didn't understand why you felt that it plays like heavenly sword I looked up the control layout. Learning about how HS played, I have to say that  DmC plays like a devil may cry that uses same mechanics as heavenly sword; which to me seems like a good thing. As for the two dodging buttons, I think one allows you to angel dodge while the other allows you to demon dodge. I would also like to point out that you can customize the control layout from the DmC demo.

3.Friend, if you're talking about that one instance where Dante just says the F-word once than you really have nothing to complain about. May I suggest trying to a find gameplay video featuring the nightclub? the in-game dialogue between Dante and Lillith is actually not that bad; way better than Poison's dialogue and an overall better than  the previous games' boss dialogues.

I apologize if I sounded rude from this post.

The characters don't at all resemble their former selves. They are nothing like what they are supposed to be. I understand that it's a reboot but it may as well be an entirely different IP - and, as I said, I honestly think everyone would appreciate it more if it were its own IP rather than a Devil May Cry game. And as far as the character designs go, Dante looks and acts like a teenage methhead. The original Dante character isn't necessarily well written or without cliche but he's at least believable as the son of a demon lord and hunter of devils. New Dante is more or less a lame approximation of the type of angsty dork that eats up the kind of rip-off orwellian fantasy that the backstory in the game is pushing.

I didn't say that the controls were bad or that I didn't like the controls, I was saying that they were not Devil May Cry controls. People that want to play a Devil May Cry game obviously want to play a game with Devil May Cry controls. Where is targetting? Where are moves like stinger and twosome time? Are there even any guns outside of Ebony and Ivory? Why is the move/combo list about a third of the size it used to be? And why is devil trigger not devil trigger in any way?

I wasn't just talking about that scene, I meant all of the dialogue is generally horrible, but since you mentioned it I'd like to talk about that scene a bit. Not only is the dialogue(all of the dialogue) absolutely pathetic but the animation is attrocious. Everything clips through everything and the demon vomits in directions that make no sense and defy physics. Everything about it reminds me to be disappointed with the game. It's especially disappointing because the textures and graphics are actually everything you would expect from a game of the current generation, it's just the animations and the things that they actually drew that are the problem.

All that being said, I still generally like the game. There are a few things I'd change and add to the engine itself, but it's generally a solid base for the game. The biggest thing I would change would just be to call it something else and rename the characters. This way everyone wins - everyone that likes the new game gets to play a game that they enjoy and fans of the series can also enjoy the game without being held back by another huge disappointment to their franchise.

I would agree. The game may not be bad, but it isn't Devil May Cry.

I think he still has the Stinger move in DmC (or something similar), but you have to double-tap in whatever direction Dante is facing and push the Triangle button. He can do this with the Debellion and his angel weapon, but he will shoot a blast with his demon weapon. I don't know why it wasn't described how to do it in the demo because I found out by accident.

Demos normally don't have this kind of tutorials, total flaw I know xD have you been able to perform the "million stabs"?
