Why can't anyone seem to believe that Vergil has NOTHING to do with Nero and his Devil Arm?
I mean, just because Yamato is in the game, and helps to awaken Nero's inner demon, what does Vergil have to do with it?
Since Nero is a descendant of Sparda, he is having a reaction to Yamato as it has been used by Sparda and Vergil, so their power in the sword was probably what helped to awaken the demon inside, mixed with the anger he was showing during that cutscene with Agnus.
Also, because we know that Nero is related to Sparda somehow, everyone is assuming that he is a Son of either Sparda himself, or Dante or Vergil.
Descendant means having the same blood. If Nero was a SON of Sparda, that would have been mentioned.
Sparda could have had children somewhere before Dante and Vergil with another woman, maybe thousands of years prior to meeting Eva (Dante/Vergil's mother) and Nero is simply someone who carries Sparda's blood indirectly... (For example, Nero's great, great, great, great... ETC.. grandmother was a daughter of Sparda many many years/centuries ago.)
So, I thought that for once, I would try to explain the other possible reason to Nero's existence, because the Vergil theory is really getting old.
Nero has similarities to Vergil.
Vergil's essence is within the Yamato so it's only natural that Vergil's Devil Trigger will appear when summoned. The Yamato grants Nero this, not the Devil Bringer. However, the Devil Bringer appears on Vergil's DT suggesting that the two are indeed linked through Vergil's essence.
However, why did the Devil Bringer resonate with the Yamato so well? Even Agnus was taken aback.
Nero's (or the Devil Bringer's) lust for power is the same as Vergil's. Vergil wanted power, he wanted to avenge his mother's death because he was too weak to prevent it. This spurred him on for the desire. Nero wanted power because he couldn't save Kyrie. Luckily though, he succeeded in obtaining the power and saved Kyrie but this was due to Vergil's power within the Yamato. Without the Yamato, Nero probably would have failed.
The Devil Bringer seemed to have influenced or even possess Nero. It wanted power. You can tell that it has a mind of its own as Nero was hearing voices in his head coming from the Devil Bringer. However, whose essence is within the Devil Bringer? Who really created it? Why does it bond perfectly with the Devil Bringer? The only sensible option is to assume that Vergil has some form of influence over it.
Nelo Angelo's soul was used in the creation of the Bianco Angelos and no doubt the rest of the Knights. It isn't ridiculous to assume that a similar thing happened to Nero. He gained an injury after battling demons and this injury seemed to have kickstarted the Devil Bringer.
However, Nero seems to display (or may have displayed) a form of wanting for power. The Devil Bringer answered his prayers as Vergil was in the same situation. It seemed that the Devil Bringer could sense Nero's desire and grant him his wish and in return, indirectly provide a vessel for Vergil's return. The Devil Bringer was silenced once it obtained the Yamato. Originally it wanted power and it got in the form of Vergil's sword. Such resonation is no coincidence. There is a real underlying meaning here.
Also, basic things such as Vergil's taunts being called out during battle are no coincidence. There is no way on this planet that Capcom were too lazy to make new ones up.
Nero acts similarly to Vergil in many ways and this seemed to have been brought on by the Devil Bringer.
Vergil has a link to Nero and there's no denial of this. Nero has kept Yamato as well so expect more from him.

I watched a cutscene where Dante allowed Nero to keep Yamato saying he needed to "keep it in the family."
Think about it.

Ok i am very much aware of the fact that people believe that Nero is a descendant of sparda through vergil but its highly doubtful.
Personally i believe that Nero is the son of both trish and dante. If you recall, at the end of the game when nero and dante are speaking to one another Nero is thanking Dante for saving him and helping him to put an end to things. Dante says dont worry about it "i have my own reasons for it" This would be because dante wouldnt care for his son to die. Also near the middle of the game dante is speaking about yamato and how it was his brothers. He says that he has to keep the sword in the family, and then not even two seconds later tells nero to keep the sword and then walks off, and then you fight using yamato some more. Well if nero is dantes son then that would be keeping it in the family.

Wrong. Nero is not Dante's son. Dante would have been around the age of 10 when Nero was born.
