@ ENZO, yeah these forums are polite and going about this in a more rational manner.   Most other forums, are ablaze with hate, and I think thats putting it lightly.

Anyway, I definately would have prefered it if Dante had appeared as the excellent photo-shopper made him look as compared to the way Ninja Theory made him look.   (which they pretty much made him look like the head dev of Ninja Theory, thats a pretty **bleep** move)

EDIT:   I found another image that would be much better than the current deisgn.

"godly dmc pictue"

NOTE - I will also add this to my other post for comparison sake.

Dang, those pictures are impressive work, thanks for sharing. Makes we wonder even more why they ever went with that stupid new hairstyle in the first place...

Perhaps.   thats actually a good point.   Perhaps the original idea was to do something that was a complete reboot, but after the backlash, they're going to try and do something that will connect with the original series.

The thing is, and this is why many fans are upset, is that this isn't like Resident Evil where things were getting stale, DMC was still a relatively new series in the gran scheme of things, and the gameplay and story had been improving with especially DMC3, and DMC4 was a good first entry into the HD generation.

There are still a ton of unanswered questions regarding the original story, not to mention that Dante (the REAL Dante, you know as he appears in DMC1, 3, 4, (and to a lesser extent DMC2) and now Marvel vs. Capcom), is an Iconic character.

If they wanted to tweak and enhance/reboot the gameplay, that would have been cool, but Dante was the last thing about the series that needed tweaking.

Now this is what I agree w/ 100%. I don't necessarily have issue w/ them doing a reboot--though to be frank I think it's silly (hell, they haven't even bothered fixing the loose ends from 4 ). I don't even think it would even have been bad if they only slightly tweaked Dante's look to be more 'gritty' or 'dark' to fit it. But what does honestly disgust me about the change is horridly drastic (and trailerpark, meth-addict nasty, to boot) they made his physical appearance look. I mean, if he's 'suppose' to be YOUNGER (my god, the DMC3 Dante puts this clown to shame in terms of looking youthful) can somebody please explain to me why the hell he looks like a burnt-out 35 yr old 90s club kid reject.....seriously? And need I even bother to mention the newfound fugliness he's seem to acquire??

And all the platinum white bottles of hair dye ain't gonna fix that (nice try w/ the pics though but that don't improve his crack-wack look).

Yeah the drastic change is a little too much but to be honest I only think he looks all ugly and like a **bleep** because it seems like he's not really the same person we know now.

Towards the end of the trailer, after killing all of the enemies he started holding his head in pain and if you looked closely you could see flashes of brain scans, so we can assume that he's not acting the same because of that. I'm sure that his appearnce will get changed back to normal either by the final cut of the game, in future trailers, or he'll change as the game progresses.

yeah, I don't get the negative flashes yet either.   Hopefully this is just a deranged/failed clone of Dante (think Star Wars TFUII) and that later in the game Dante as we know him will bust in and either kick the crap out of this crappy clone (because its evil), or help it get over whatever its problem is.  *sigh* IDK, probably grasping at straws.

Re: DmC: Devil May Cry - Let's Discuss Dante's Appearance

That's the thing, i dont think them saying that is gonna change anything....changing the way a character looks is one thing, changing the complete story is another.....i think them saying that is just to keep people's interest in a game no one seems to be looking forward to....to sucker people into getting the game thinking it will somehow relate to the older dmc games, but by the time they realize it doesnt or at least not in a significant way, it's too late, cause they already got your money....

Everyone would be. That's why I can't wait for this game to come out -- just because no one's going to buy it. They aren't going to make any money, and they are going to bawww at everyone about Capcom not paying them. That's what they did with Heavenly Sword; The game came out, it was a poor-man's God Of War, it wasn't that good and no one bought it. Lo and behold, they blamed Sony for them not making any money. Not the fact that their game sucked.

hahaha!  LOL thats funny, but said.   and worse because that means they're wrecking a good series, (and hopefully they'll learn there lesson this time.   Though I really wish that they would learn this lesson with a different game.
