The anime is cool. I have the whole anime series on BD disc.
Its not an epic or anything, the story is more of a day by day "A life in the day of Dante" look at the character. baisically it follows Dante's typical day to day life, and we see him deal with some of his more "regular" less world-endy cases.

Well we can't link you to a site to watch the anime as it's against forum rules. I liked the anime though, really wish they would have done another season or 2 of it. Like Vegeta said it's really just about Dante's day to day life working at Devil May Cry and the smaller cases he gets. As far as the movie goes I've never been a big fan of movies based off video games mainly because they usually destroy the story and choose terrible actors to play the main parts but like all the rest I'll wait and see how it turns out.

The Devil May Cry anime is on instant Watch on Netflix.
You can sign up for a free tiral and watch the entire seires.
Also, the movie is based on Ninja Theory's reboot/prequel so it most likely isn't going to live up to your expectations. It was described as being similar to Alex Proyas' "The Crow", which isn't a direction a Devil May Cry movie should take...

At first I read a DMC movie and was like cool! Then Yeonwonhi said it's going to be based on the reboot and I just threw up a little.... those trailers are pathetic to the DMC name. But about the anime, it's not great but it's worth watching, especially if you already have Netflix instant (who doesn't?). I enjoyed it, but there wasn't enough Trish in it and I didn't like Dante always going out for strawberry ice cream sundaes.... seriously what the crap? Makes Dante too soft, but it's still a pretty cool show and the soundtrack is amazing! Went online and bought it not long after watching the show, it's so good.

What is a `Netflix Instant`?
(serious)

You've seriously never heard of Netflix? When I said Netflix Instant what I meant was the company (Netflix) has instant (as in streaming video directly to your computer or ps3, you don't need to rent the dvd). Netflix has been getting into their streaming service they call "instant" more and more; and while they still offer the dvd rent by mail service, they have tons of stuff on instant so you can watch "instantly" right away without having to wait for it to show up in the mail. The anime of Devil May Cry is out on dvd and bluray, but you can also just watch it instantly online through Netflix service if you just want to check it out before you buy.

I`ve heard of netflix, but I didn`t know what Netflix instant was.
I still prefer the old fashioned message of going to the video store and browsing around.

B-but Dante eating pizza and strawberry sundaes is Dante! He's an amazing badass who kills demons everyday and isn't afraid to enjoy things that are "childish". That's why smoking is out of character.
Vegeta, Instant Watch in Netflix is a feature where you can watch a movie instantly through video streaming, as Zero said. It's a bit more convinient with video stores like Blockbuster going out of business and resorting to their competition's methods and having you order movies straight to your house. Man, times have changed...
