That is crazy, you die and start back at the begining.  They need to change that, its hard enough without that.

No, you get 3 saves throughout the entire game. So you die, you start back at your last save. The difficulty itself isn't that bad.

Agreed. Aside from the first few chapters on Impossible, the difficulty itself isn't all that hard. You mainly need to be cautious and save health packs for when you really need them (I personally stored any excess packs in my safe, that way I could ready for any possibly issue later in the game.) Just take your time.
