Artorias of the Abyss DLC details revealed!

Hey there everyone,  just wanted to share some details about the upcoming DLC with you guys:

The PC version of the game isn't looking so good. Porting to PC has been difficult and there is no HD version of the game. Framerate issues in Blighttown will not be fixed.

The DLC will contain 3 new areas and 4 new bosses, all with additional weapons and armour. The DLC will be integrated in the middle of the game, and it should take experienced players about 10 hours to complete it.

And finally, (I've saved the best 'till last), the events of the DLC will take place 300 years before the events of Dark Souls! When Artorias was not just a legend, he was alive!

It all sounds good to me! What about you guys? Thoughts?

Re: Artorias of the Abyss DLC details revealed!

I'm still reserving judgement until I see more. I am a bit concerned about the drive behind the DLC (From is more of an all or nothing studio) and I'm unsure as to how this smaller version would fit in with the game and whether it can satisfy the fanbase.

My guess is that it'll be around $15.

The DLC will be available in Winter for 14.99.

Japanese release date for console content is October 25th, so I would expect a similar date.

Ok, I am confused. How can it be in the middle of the game and 300 years before Dark Souls? What does that mean? We time travel to get there? We have to start a new game?

Time is distorted in Lordan so maybe they are using that as the catalyst.

Re: Artorias of the Abyss DLC details revealed!

My concern is the use of what seems to be discarded development assets. Will see how it looks when released, but the assets were unfinished and possibly not final design choices. It's doubtful that any more production was applied so I expect rough edges.

Re: Artorias of the Abyss DLC details revealed!

What makes it seems like it was disacrded development assets? If anything I felt Dark Souls was missing something around the forest area. Maybe Namco rushed them to release it and they did not have time to add it in.

I said this in another post but the area after the Moonlight Butterfly and the area with the red frogs that give you the green blossum just seemed unfinished to me. Like something else should have been there but was not.

Personally I really don't care if it was disacrded stuff because I just want more Dark Souls!!
