I don't know, BY NOW we should have gotten at least a bit more confirmation on the May 1st release, so i have doubts that it will be released in May of 2010, but i can assure you that this game will come out sometime later on this year as this years DDR titles for 2010.
My assumption comes from the fact that if you go to the Konami website, their "Coming Soon" titles only show that Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is coming soon, and THAT game is coming out in June, ONE MONTH after the "supposed" release of DDR for the PS3/360. I have a theory that we will see this game being displayed at this year's E3 conference, and you can rest assured i will be looking into that conference
If you are at all a big time DDR fan like myself, you will be HIGHLY disappointed with the new DDR. I recently traded in my Wii (the only reason i had it was for zelda and ddr..) for the ps move and ddr game bundle the day it came out, because i figured the ps3 version would kick the wii's ass, and i must say i'm kinda disappointed.
For one.. There is no Character selections, which was a big part of it for me because i liked unlocking the new outfits.. No stages.. just trippy backgrounds that gets really repetitive and boring.. unless you have the ps3 move, then you can just watch yourself play.
The game mode kinda sucks. You just have to keep playing a minimum of 5 random songs until you get your skill level up. And usually you have to keep playing the same 5 songs over and over.. and they are not fun electronic songs either, if i have to play that "i need you now" country song one more time, i think my brain is gonna explode.
There hasn't been any competitions against the computer, the music selection is weak.. AHHH! I'm so disappointed. I'm really hoping for a complete game update
It didn't look ANYTHING close to the original trailer i watched about 4 months ago.
this game is a miss. I'm not sure who they asked for fan requests, but this game is not even close to a fan service. no edits, no doubles, no online play, licenses are designed to attract the female populous, and the KONAMI Original selection, while a cute effort to try and add some new flavor to the game, is definitely a slap in the face since it's missing any kind of PARANOiA or Trip Machine or even Brilliant 2U. There's so many classics that they chose to leave out, and it's really disappointing in my opinion.
