The wife just asked for DDR for the PS3 and I'm surprised there is no such a thing. What is Sony waiting for? I see the box has it why can't the PS3 has it too?
It's Konami's and Sony's fault on this one.
It's Sony's fault because since they aren't killing off PS2, Konami can still release DDR on PS2.
It's Konami's fault because they see no point in bringing DDR to PS3. They brought DDR to one console since the previous one was killed off so early. They brought DDR to another console to appeal to its audience. With PS3, until the DDR fans from PS2 jump to PS3, Konami sees no reason to bring it to PS3. There's not much with the DDR graphics they could do (it doesn't require fancy graphics). Konami never comes close to filling a DVD with music, so blu-ray isn't helpful (Konami won't jam the disc with songs since they rather stick to a small amount and save songs for other versions). Konami just doesn't believe in actual downloadable music. On one console, they sell unlock keys to 10 songs each version.
IMO, Konami SHOULD have made DDR X for PS3 and PS2. The PS3 one could have been HD scaled and sold at $10 more (with a dance pad). I guarantee they'd get some sales on PS3 also.
And when Konami got feedback about DDR on PS3, the fans don't want it.

how is it possible to find a dance mat 4 the ps3 for ddr
actually the PS3 could use the usb dancepads that people already use for PC games such as StepMania. The red octane Ignition 3.0 is a perfect pad. Although konami has rights for a DDR type game. Too bad though, if they didnt have IP rights In the groove would have been out for ps3 already.
