Warranty for units bought from someone else

3 replies 238 views Edited Nov 17, 2013

If I buy a PS4 from someone else (not a retailer), does this affect the warranty?  Someone on Craigslist in my area wants to make a few bucks (maybe $50 or less).  If the console doesn't work, though, I want to be able to send it to Sony.  Does anyone know whether or not Sony requires the original receipt, or just the unit itself, if a problem arises?
