Standby Mode and Power Issues after 2.0 update (Anyone else)

Hello. First off, I'm going to say that I've been pretty happy with the way my ps4 has worked so far, however, I only just bought it two weeks ago and this is the first time I update it.

So after I updated it I noticed I couldn't go online and while I was trying to set up my internet connection again my ps4 froze and turnes itself off. As soon as I turned it back on it automatically rebuilt the database and the thankfully seems to be ok now.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? I think maybe it just crashed or should I be worried?

Edit: updated topic title for clarity

This happened to me as well.

I turned on the mic from the Camera, invited a mate who wasn't online to share play. went back to X-bar. and the PS4 turned off.. (no warning).

Had to hard boot it from powerbutton, and it proceeded to rebuild harddrive.

*The strange thing was that it didn't ask if i wished to notify Sony.

Happened to me as well. Finished the update, then I went to the PS store, PS4 shut off. I had to restart by pushng the power button on the front of the console. Database rebuilt then I was asked if I wanted to report it to Sony.

Re: Ps4 turned off after 2.0 (Anyone else)

My PS4 won't turn back on.  I've tried the power button, the controller, hooking the controller up to the PS4, hooking my second controller up to the PS4...

All that's happened is nothing.  The white indicator light on the top of the PS4 is blinking and my controllers are on (presumably wasting the battery which doesn't hold a charge well to begin with), but the PS4 simply won't turn on.  I only got it to eject my disc by holding the bottom button for ten seconds.

If anyone has any advice on how to remedy this, I'd be appreciative.

PS4 won't turn on after 2.0 update!!!

Oct 28, 2014

Update installed correctly, then PS4 gave me some random error code while browsing friends list. Then my TLOU wouldn't start, just hung on the opening screen. Then I tried to log off and that would'nt work! Also hung. Then I tried to turn the **bleep** thing off and same thing, HUNG!!! So I unplugged from the cord and now the **bleep** thing won't turn on AT ALL!

????

DO NOT PUT IT INTO SLEEP MODE! IT WILL HANG AND NOT COME BACK ON!

P.S: The only way to turn it back on I've found is this

1. unplug from AC

2. press power button (this will cycle what ever charge is left inside of it)

3. Plug into different AC or power bar socket

4. Press PS button on a controller that's hooked up via USB

Should turn back on!

PS4 doesn't turn on after patch 2.0

Oct 28, 2014

Hey guys,my first post here

I just upgraded my PS4 to firmware 2.0 and when I put it in "rest mode" the orange light continued to blink and the system didn't turn on.Nothing happened when I pressed the power button. So I had to unplug and replug it back in order to get it working.

I thought it's fixed but when I put in rest mode again, same thing happened.

Any ideas ?
