My Samsung KS9000 also has the random flickering problem when set to 2160p RGB. Very annoying as games clearly look way better in this resolution. It's as though the tv fails to detect the hdmi input and signal drops in and out. If anyone knows of a fix to get this working please let me know. I wont settle for the inferior 2160p yuv420 resolution.
Shame on you Sony/Samsung no issues with my xbox1s
Thanks in advance.
For me, I'm not sure where the problem lies. I own a pro with a 55" Samsung js8500. I have tried:
Turning off hdcp
Switching to brand new hdmi cables
Switching resolution from auto to 2160p yuv
Changing rgb from auto to full and tried limited later
Changing the ps4 hdcp to 1.4 instead of 2.2
Updated the TV to the latest version (as of now version 1464)
Nothing seems to work although atm I'm testing the settings in 1080p instead of 4k. So far so good but this isn't the way I would want to play because I have a 4k resolution TV I would like to use. If it doesn't flicker in 1080p, then at least I would have the problem narrowed down. With most of us having this problem with Samsung tvs, it must be safe to say the problem lies within the Samsung TV.
I also have the same issue on a Samsung KS9500 (KS9800 US)...
The only thing that fixes it for me is to restart the console or switch off HDMI UHD Color briefly, then switch it back on.
It's definitely annoying but if I need to use this 1 minute fix in order to game a couple hours without a single issue, then so be it.
I am sure it'll be solved eventually. But this is NOT a Samsung problem. It is happening with Sony as well as I found someone here facing the exact same problem.
So would playing without hdmi UHD color stop the flickering? I know it's not ideal because it's required to be on for HDR. But would having HDMI uhd color off stop the flickering? Because that was my next test on pinpointing the problem.
Edit: playing with hdmi UHD color off DOES NOT fix the problem.
