NAT Type Failed PS4

13 replies 19495 views Edited Jan 6, 2014

I got my PS4 for Christmas and I have been able to get online see my friends who are also online, play online on cod ghosts with a Nat type strict it says at the bottom but when I try to join a friends party chat I get the error (NP-34994-9). I connect to my PS4 with an Ethernet cable. This has really been annoying me because none of my friends are having the same problem so they are all on party chat together.

I have never had any issues with party chat. Do you have your ports forwarded in your router?  Either that or your router is just really low end and having issues maybe

Make sure you set your nat to open.To do this you must log into your router settings via browser. Depending on your router, it's usually something like this you use to type in your address bar (192.168.1.1) <If this doesn't work just google your router and model number in a Google search and you'll easily it.

Ports list:

http://support.us.playstation.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1136

And look for your router here:

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/

*ADD only link to super hub 2: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/VirginMedia/Super_Hub_2/PlayStation_4.htm

I just solved it. So EZ for me!

Use the external (WAN) DNS server! Don't know why it worked over Google, but maybe it's blocked somewhere.
