I find it weird how so many people are reporting their left stick wearing out and not the right.
For me they are both wearing out pretty quickly, not as bad as some perhaps due to my delicate nature but either way they are wearing out a bit too quick for me.
I have put in maybe 2-3 hours a day with my ps4 since launch almost everyday and have noticed that the ridge that keeps your thumbs from slipping are wearing out the fastest. they were textured on day one and now they are mostly smoothed out but no hard plastic exposed thankfully.
The center of the stick has worn out quite a bit also I've noticed, thankfully no exposure of the hard plastic so far and im trying to be as gentle as possible while playing, heck I even went so far as to have my thumb callus removed and to make sure my hands are clean and soft and not dry and rough (winter makes that hard)
I did my part, sony should of done theirs to ensure a strong material designed for gaming not casual menu browsing.
It saddens me to see that the PS3 controller wont work on the PS4. I don't see why it shouldn't. The new PS4 controller is the old PS3 controller with added features.
Sony has obviously hardware banned the PS3 controller type because they want people to buy the accessories for PS4.
I'm still happy with the console, it's just sad to see they do this kind of marketing scam.
EDIT: I'm sure people are going to produce adapters/bluetooth relays to overcome the PS3 controller ban on the PS4 though, in time, in time...
My Ps4 controller left stick in less than one month has worn down very bad and is now torn and showing hard plastic underneath. I am very disapointed and plan to fully alert everyone. I love my Ps4 and this is not acceptible!!!!! My ps3 controller never had these issues. Have any others experienced success with warranty replacement?????
I'm taking about this one
