Re: [INFO] Issues with ejecting PS4 discs

Aug 23, 2014
Still have this very annoying, random issue myself. It may be software based tho as seems to happen for me if i ran a digital copy of something (be that a game or netflix etc.
Would really like a official confirmation of this issue from sony as we should know if we nee to send our consoles back for repair or not during the warranty period given how much we've all spent on the machine..

My PS4 was ejecting repeatedly even with no disc in it, here the rubber foot under the eject button got pushed in and was rubbing against the eject button check for that also if you're experincing this issue.

Unplug the console from the power. Press eject for 7 to 8 seconds. The console will drain the power left in the power supply. Then plug the console to the wall and turn the console on. It should be fix it.

Re: [INFO] Issues with ejecting PS4 discs

Disc beeping/ejecting Solved! The issue is a major flaw in the design.. (Electrician/PC Technician/Ruby Dev)

1) eject any discs if they havent ejected themselves already. Smiley Tongue

2) unplug all cables including power and press down (Not too hard, but not too softly on the RIGHT side of your PS4). Until all beeping goes away!

 - The unit holds some type of memory charge after unplugging, this is important-

3) Boot up and the problem should be gone (For Now) / Please read on if you care to know the issue...

--Long story /Short/Medium:

Under the middle and right side of the PS4 are three rubber bumpers with sensors. These are used to tell the system what position it is in (Horizontal or Standing/Vertical) The problem is on the far left of the system there are NO/ 0 /Zilch rubber bumpers. This creates an awkwardly unbalanced piece of hardware... Don't believe me? Push down on the far left edge of the unit lightly. Did it wobble? Of course it did. This throws off the sensors causing an auto eject issue.

It's easy to cause, because you do everything on the left side of the unit while horizontal from power/disc insertion/ejection etc... To fix it/reset the sensors so it stops until it messes up again follow the three steps mentioned above. If your issue is greater than thi,  then good luck. I havent seen any other issues that I can try and solve, but I can help. Just ask.

I'm not surprised Sony would ship them this way, but I am surprised that the engeineer didnt see this. Well maybe he/she did so I shouldnt be surprised. I just like to know why and what is the root cause instead of Sony playing the guessing game/ BSing the consumer...

If it worked for you thumb it up. I'm here to help...

Is there a way to disable the sensor and just eject directly from the game menu or app menu?  I'm getting tired of the ps4 auto ejecting the game when I'm in the middle of playing.

Do people actually read the answers already given in the thread???!!!!

You take the time to come to the thread, then make a post, after all.

Folks, turning the machine off and unplugging it, does not fix the auto eject issue. Neither does elevating the unit, or placing it vertical.

There is only one surefire 100% solution, so far. The T9 screwdriver fix.

That is a fact.

Don't send your PS4 back to Sony to mend it. If the issue doesn't happen in their test centre, they send it back to you, unfixed. If you're lucky, they may give you a new PS4, the issue with that though, is it could easily happen to your newer Ps4 too.

Until Sony revise the PS4 and maybe fix the issue (an issue they refuse to officially acknowledge), you're only true fix is the T9 fix.
