Has anyone else been able to get Dolby 5.1 surround sound via HDMI on their PS4? I can get it via optical audio, but not HDMI. I did not have this issue with PS3. I made sure to change the settings to Bistream Dolby. Does anyone have any insight on this?
My issue is muffled audio when using any setting inside the ps4 albeit PCM, Dolby/DTS Bitstream and using the receiver set to anything other than 7 channel stereo!! The audio and music in game will be just fine when I set it to 7 channel stereo, but anything else it's all kinds of messed up. I have not tried any movies/blu-ray as of yet, so I am unsure of them. Kinda scared to find out honestly....
It is so disappointing to have this kind of issue since this is something that should be straight forward especially this day and age of these audio codecs......
I am hoping someone can help me with this... On my Ps4, I have an optical cable from the PS4 going directly to my home theater ausio system. It;'s only a Dolby Digit 5:1, no DTS. Everything works fine in all five channels via Bitstream (Dolby) Option in the PS$ settings except for Netflix. I only get Stereo out of the two front dpeakers with Netflix and I have tried several different movies that should to have 5:1 Dolby and also tried the other two audio options in ps4 but it's still only the front two. It's fine using BLu-Rays that have Dolby, fine with games, fine with Vudu, etc. It's only Netflix. Netflix was working through all channels via PS3 though. Any ideas?
I think we have to just wait for a fix.
Just got my PS4. Hooked everything up and noticed that I was only getting a stereo signal. I checked the audio settings and tried every single one (PCM & Bitstream). My Sony 7.1 reciever is set on auto detect. I switch back to my PS3 and I get a full 7.1 signal. PS4, only stereo! I tested Blu-rays, tried different HDMI cables, nothing.
Anyone else having this issue? Anyone have any tips? Thanks!
