i also had same problem where it moves on its own with 2 ps3 controllers, so what i did was i started using my old ps2 controller with an adapter and it works perfect. the only thing is it has no "home" button so i keep a 2nd controller plugged in just for that.

Guys, he obviously means his character is spinning, not the controller. This is well documented, though I haven't seen it in awhile.

OP: It happens when there's an interupption in the Bluetooth signal. I'd suggest trying to reset the controller with the pinhole at the back. If the problem persists, see if there are any devices around that might be causing interference, like a cordless phone etc.

If all that fails, your BT receiver on your PS3 may have an issue.

^^^^  THIS

I've had sporadic interuptions where my character/car just goes completely off on it's own. It only last for a few seconds, then back to normal.  Like he said- random blue tooth interferrence. If it is happening a LOT, then reinitialize your BT devices, check for other things... then if it still happens.. like he said.. you may have a hardware issue in your PS3

to the OP, DirtyOFries is indeed correct, the problem is with the Bluetooth signal being interrupted. Find the source to the interference and your porblem is solved.
