yeah you can, it will just format it, but before you do that jsut back up your memory of course
he said he can't casue of YLOD......
Can always try fixing it yourself. get some thermal paste and a heat gun and watch a tutorial on youtube. It's pretty simple if your good with electronics. then once you recesitate her, back up quick!
ohhhh dang, hmmm i heard there is another way to back up your memory from what i heard you connect your hardrive to a pc, its an adapter i have no idea what its called though
yeah, no that does not work.
The only way to backup the data on a PS3's HDD is by turning on the PS3 that originally formatted it and backing it up from the menu, or copying the data to a flash drive or external HDD.
A PC will not recognize the data on the PS3's HDD. And another PS3 will need to format it if installed internally and if connected via USB will not recognize it.
not like take out your pc hard drive and put it in the pc itself i heard there was an adapter and you save whatever whats on the hard drive, i wouldnt know if its true i only googled it when i got the yellow light, but i used my old back up memory
I know what you meant, but it makes no difference how you connecd it to a PC. You can use a USB to SATA adapter, an external enclosure, or directly connect it inside the PC.
Windows does not recognize the partition, and will not see the data, so you cannot use a PC to recover the data. Some flavors of Linux see the partition, but still cannot access the data. Another PS3 won't recognize it since it is not FAT32 (if connected via USB) and if connected internally, it will format it.
