Purchased my PS4 in December 2013. I figured that the QC process for the newer releases of the system would be better than the launch edition. After plugging it all in, I immediately get the "blue light of death". Tried different cables, different TV, different hard drive, and booting to safe mode. Every attempt failed. This is the Xbox red ring of death all over again..except I didn't even get to enjoy my PS4 anymore than I would a rock. Called Sony and explained what I did to troubleshoot the problem, and they are sending me a box to return it for what I assume is a refurbished system. Turn around time was estimated to be about one week.
If you get a plusing Blue light there´s nothing that can be done but Unplug the consol from the power cord for a couple of second and see if it works, if it does not work, return it to the retailer or send the unit for service.
i've had the ps3 and on it I could play for days with no problems, so this is not acceptable from a hardware standpoint.
have not yet talked with the support of sony nor with the reseller and by the looks of it I would have a hard time getting help from either of them judging from this forum.
please comment here if u have had the same issue.
