So I am hooked up to my ps3 via a computer monitor which has no audio output so I just use the 7.1 wireless headset for sound. Yet sometimes I want to play without a headset on. Does the ps3 work with third party bluetooth speakers such as these from Creative Labs: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Wireless-Bluetooth-
Does it require a usb adapter? Thanks in advance!
Apart from the PS3 Wireless Stereo Headset, you can only get chat audio out of Bluetooth or USB audio devices. They won't play back game audio. You need speakers that use the red-white RCA connection, the 3.5 mm stereo minijack or the optical input.
"Potato" is accurate and this lack of feature is unfortunately true.
Big drawback when you utilize the PS3 audio outside of gaming chat, ie Music, Qrocity & Browser (Pandora), PC link, etc.
I have the AltecLansing inMotion Air, which works great with my Sony laptop & my smartphone, plan was to bring PS3 into the mix to enable whole house/upstairs music in addition to my living room surround sound setup. Hopefully the PS3 crew monitors these forum boards and can remedy the situation with the next update. Hint Hint.
Full bluetooth speaker capability would be another feature to put the competition farther back in the rearview mirror.
It only does ALMOST everything.
I just actually got some Bluetooth speakers and I wanted to pair them with my PS3. I selected the speakers, now it wants a pass key. At first, I did no pass key, and it didn't allow me to pair to the speakers. Now I'm trying to find the pass key for the speakers. If anyone knows about this, please tell us.
