Only takes one shot to kill me but several to kill opponents? Am I missing a body armor perk?

I'm playing cod black ops 1 in multiplayer team death Match. It seems like the more veteran players can kill me with one shot. But it takes me several shots to kill other players. Are their weapons stronger? Am I missing body armor? Is it my Internet connection? It seems like other players always have quicker reactions than me and I can never stab anyone...they always stab me first.

Is this all because of a slow connection?

It could be Any of these. If you Internet is bad you will lag and be slower then other players an maybe you just haven't developed your full skill yet. Just keep playing you will get better. But they are no body armor. Only a flak jacket which just protects you from blast and shrapnel.

Thanks. Sounds like the reaction thing is def my Internet connection. It could be that I need to upgrade my weapons to something more powerful too.

Welcome to Call of Duty. If you're looking for a more consistent, stable experience, I'd recommend Halo 4 or Killzone 3.
