Honestly, I think that MW3 is more run and gun friendly than camper friendly.

Yes, there are still campers, and there always will be, but they all seem to suck at camping.

With MW3, you have to check nearly every corner, not for campers, but for enemies heading that way.

And SnD is notorious for campers. It is the ultimate camping game mode.

It's not the equipment that has anything to do with it.

It's the fact that there are way too many spot on every map where a person can just set up shop and sit there, barely getting touched until someone is able flank them when their teammates aren't near. Another reason is that you die EXTREMELY fast in this game compared to MW2 and Black Ops so you often get killed by the camper even though you could have spotted them first.

As for the correct term, I would call it cheating if there weren't so many people behind and it weren't so common. There is no reason for to play like that in CoD and all it does is slow the gameplay down, which is one of the reasons people get bored of the game. I played with a couple of friends last night and we left almost 10 games(Domination, Kill Confirmed, Demolition, and TDM) in a row because there was an incredible amount of camping going on in every game.

There's a game that encourages camping more than ever: Battlefield 3. Take that crap over there.

Camping is more a strategy to control an area of a map with high traffic. It's simple, if you don't want to die from campers then stop going back to the same place they keep killing you at. I'm a proud and avid camper, I enjoy posting a consistent 2.57 k:d and I'm sure others would as well if they employed the same tactics. I put my red dot sight in the right position, aim, and fire with a type 95. Its also a simple strategy to defeat as well though. If you stay away from campers well then obviously they won't kill you unless you subject yourself to certain vulnerabilities. If people keep coming back, thats their own fault and certainly not the campers. Campers like me exploit what the opposing team players give them. If they never exposed themselves to vulnerabilities by just mindlessly running around, then campers would not be such a huge thing. For as long as players mindlessly run around, I will always find different spots to post up, claymore up, throw out my portable radar, sit with assassin and scavenger and wait for some idiots to make mistakes. I typically will control one area of a map from multiple positions in order to confuse opponents, that's a real strategy and should not be frowned upon. I don't wait for people to run around a corner and shoot them in the back.... That's not a very efficient way of acquiring high numbers of kills. If your in a strategically oriented position that is difficult to attack, and you manipulate your environment to protect your back, then dominating should come naturally and should be considered a legitimate strategy that is just as much a part of the game as any other strategy. i agree world at war has little to no campers at all while when i play mw3 i can't stress it enough when i'm on a great killstreak and i get killed by a camper and the killstreaks on the other teams obtained from camping.I suggest playing drop zone while everyone goes running to the drop zone.I run all around the map while others go for care packages.It's alot better averaging 46-12 then 17-8 on a playlist such as tdm.

1 thing that's worst than camping is ohh yeah you've guessed it's QUICK SCOPING!!!!!!!!!! To all those quick scopers out there i look down at everyone of you.You might be asking why..BECAUSE it takes little to know skill you've seen once you've seen it a million times.I can't play 1 maybe  (AND I DO MEEN MAYBE)2 games of drop zone witout getting quick scoped every second.Why don't you use snipers like they were inteded to looking in the scope for a while??????
