Black Ops 2, matchmaking limited to my region

Hello all, since last weekend I've been having problems with the matchmaking service. It takes FOREVER to find a match, to the point where the only viable game mode I can choose is regular Team Deathmatch, and when I finally get in (usually as a host and waiting for people to join) it's only with people of my country. Is this a known issue as of late, or am I having problems on my end?
