I would really like to see DICE take battlefield back to World War II.  1943 was OK, the graphics weren't that great.  I would love to see what they could do with the Frostbite 2.  I'm thinking something like 1942, a taste of all of the countries, and all of the theatres.  US, UK, Japan, Germany, Russia, Western/Eastern front, North Africa, Pacific.  My imagination goes wild thinking of the possibilities.  I would even be happy with an add-on, like with Bad Company 2's Vietnam DLC.  4 or so maps in different countries with most of the countries playable.

There is such a void now with world war 2 shooters since most of the big franchises have abandoned it for modern day warfare (Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield, and another Brothers in Arms seems far off as well).

     Would you like to see this, or are you happy with the modern setting?

Would really enjoy a European front BF game. Especially with the frostbite engine. Imagine Omaha Beach with FB2! (For you that played 1942)

I agree, it would be great.  But, I will not buy another  BF game as long as they allow renting of servers.

you know you can go to the Server Browser and choose the servers owned by DICE and EA to avoid all of the nonesense.

What nonsense? I much prefer private servers not owned by EA. Don't get why someone would not, I find the communities and admins to be better since it's more concentrated and focused.

Anyway I'd be interested in another WW2 one but not American. It's been done too many times and isn't interesting, although I would miss the M1. An addon wouldn't be good, no one ever plays addons. Years ago I bought BF2 and all its addons, no one ever played the addons. Same with the Bad Company addons. Waste of money.

Private servers are hit and miss. Although the good ones outweigh the bad ones by a long shot. I do find myself getting kicked just for killing the admin or doing well in general. In no less than 30 seconds though, I am in another game, no issues.

So what are you suggesting? Let's make a WW2 game based off the British forces and attempt to sell it in the U.S.? No. Are you kidding me? BF2pecial Forces is one of the best selling BF DLC's of all time. Plenty of people played it in 2006.
