Does anyone know why using the thunderbolt jet will not register in your stats, or if DICE is going to do anything about it?

In case you don't know apparently when you use the Thunderbolt you don't actually recieve any points for using it.  The points you get for disables, kills, etc. don't go to your jet category.  I had read about this on this forum a while ago and dismissed it, someone casually mentioned it out of topic.  But the other day I finally got in one and got a some points in it, shot down the frogfoot pilot who was pestering me while in tanks.  But I got NOTHING for jets at the end of the match.  And not only that, on battlelog the Thunderbolt is still at the bottom of the vehicle list with no kills and 0m 0s as the time spent in it.   ??!!

I've only flown in a thunderbolt twice but I have no stats for it, so I assume this happens everytime it is used and not randomly.  Maybe it doesn't happen to everyone, but I know I read about it here on these forums. 

Could someone please clarify this for me?  I searched this forum and battlefield wikia and came up with nothing.

I've never even came close to one in a game session but, when you got to battlelog, you doesn't even show the unlocks you can get with it.

I've seen many people post that points they earn in the "A-10 THUNDERBOLT" are not counted at all. I can't confirm this personally though.

The "A-10 THUNDERBOLT" is the only jet that does NOT have unlocks. To see this yourself, look it up on the battlelog website. You'll see the "Unlocks" box completely empty. If you click on the aircraft, it will even say "There are no unlocks for this item".  So, any points you earn in the "A-10 THUNDERBOLT" will not show up (correctly so) as progress towards your jet unlocks.

By the way, there are two helicopters that are similar to this. These two helicopters do not have any unlocks. They are the "UH-1Y VENOM" helicopter and the "KA-60 KASATKA" helicopter.

There are MANY land vehicles that do not have unlocks.  This includes jeeps and buggies, for example.

This is, apparently, how the game was designed.  I don't think it is a glitch.  The game designers just decided that some vehicles would not have unlocks.  To at least some extent, this makes sense.  I would not really expect unlocks for some small buggy vehicle.

If you want to see which vehicles have unlocks and which ones don't, probably the best thing to do is to login to battlelog and check out the vehicle list.  Any vehicle that doesn't have unlocks cannot earn you points towards them.

Well, they are finally fixing it in the upcoming patch, just no ETA yet on it.

The A10 fix is the first thing listed under 'Vehicle Fixes'.

Just wanted to correct some things and clarify some others.

The points you earn in the "A-10 THUNDERBOLT" do not count towards jet unlocks, as previously discussed in this thread.  However, they still do count as points for your game.  So, they would also count towards earning your next rank.  They just are not registering for the jet unlocks.  I can personally confirm this.

Also, if you already have unlocks for jets, they WILL work for the "A-10 THUNDERBOLT".  I was flying this recently and used heat seekers while in it.  This is a correction to what I had written before ("The "A-10 THUNDERBOLT" is the only jet that does NOT have unlocks").  It is possible that the game has changed since I wrote that.  Regardless, if you have them already, the unlocks definitely do now work for the "A-10 THUNDERBOLT".

The stats for this vehicle do not show up on the battlelog website as previously mentioned in this thread.

I have played since the latest patch for Battlefield 3.  I am happy to report that the stats for the A-10 THUNDERBOLT are working fine now.  I have personally killed enemies using this jet, and all of my stats for doing so worked perfectly fine.
