With the new PSN store format I decided to check out some of the full games and I came across Batman: Arkham City and decided to try the demo. From what I played it seems like a good game, especially for the price.
But I do know that they made Arkham Asylum first? If I get Arkham City will I be missing out on something big if I jump right into the sequel? I wouldn't have this problem if both were in the PSN store but my virtual wallet is full and my real one is empty lol.
Does the original leave off on a cliffhanger or can I enjoy Arkham City as a standalone game?

Batman: Arkham City being a follow-up to Asylum has some hints to the original, but more so from what I remember it acts as a separate campaign for the most part. There are obvious ties to the first one, especially with the way the story is handled. Ultimately though, playing through the first one first I think would be a better way to fill you in on how everything went down. The experience would be that much more fulfilling.

Thanks for the help guys, I ended up picking the game up. To me this is the best way for an open world game, great idea seeing how this is what batman is about, stopping crime around the entire city.

Soooo, you post a link to, not an actual article, but a blog post of YOU trashing the game and consider that as irrefutable fact. I think the only two things that need to be said are this....
1---The user rating that is located next to your post is a 9.75 out of 10. Seems like many people don't agree with your assessment.
2---Out of the 426 views of your post, there was only 1 comment, and it went like this....
Most of this review consists of complaints about the color of the Batsuit and "plot holes". You said nothing about graphics, which are amazing. Nothing about sound or score, also amazing. And nothing about animation, amazing. Comment any of these plot holes you wish to have explained and I would be happy to do so.
I fail to see the irrefutable facts you claim to show.

Asylum question here:
I finally got Asylum, and decided I wanted to go balls out and play it on the highest difficulty out og the gate. Seriously, why is it soooo difficult?
I am somewhat proficient in playing games, and I saw the warning when I was picking the level.
Why do developers go to the extreme on the hardest setting? To further that, as if the initial "hardest" setting isn't already near impossible, why do they tease gamers with an unlock on an "insane" difficulty level, if completed on the "hardest"?
It makes the game less fun, but I am too bull headed to give up and set the level lower. Just aggravating.
