They never said that. Ubisoft confirmed AC3 before ACR released. And I'm sure it's been said before...
And on-topic; change is good. The setting and Ezio were getting boring and repetitive, it needed a refreshing start and a new engine. Plus, we're all excited for it and the game looks outstanding.
Yes, the game just looks simply beautiful.

i think it is going to be a cool twist to American revolutionary history(also my favorite time period ) the only thing is i hope the game sticks to its ac origins and doesnt try to become too much like an open world like skyrim. skyrim was awsome, but ac is ac and they shouldnt try and make it the same game. like cod and shooters, to many shooters trying to be like cod and NO originality in games once so ever anymore.(online i mean)

I personally cannot WAIT for Assassin's Creed III. It is going to an awesome experience, just like the rest of the AC series. The thing I am MOST happy about is the inclusion of Native Americans in the series. Only 2 other games to my knowledge have had Native Americans and a critical part of the game experience. One was the Turok games and the other was Prey.
