Yea... as a newcomer to the anime boards, I can already tell 99.9% of the people here stick with whatever is popular on TV. These teen mangas/animes have such a bland looking character design. I don't know how one can find anything attractive about it.
Sorry, I guess it's just strange seeing everybody posting their favorite pictures thus far.

I wouldn't call those basic artist ability, I've seen worse.
Mmkay, well that's the first time I've ever been in a discussion about "most beautiful" characters and found out that we weren't talking about appearance... but rather the personality. I'm not trying to offend anybody or anything, but let's just say I have a knack for being deliberate with my comments. At the very least, at least the emotional reaction people feel from my post better engenders them to logically explain their POV.
@animefreak - X/R/PG-13, it doesn't really matter to me. I think any and all characters and stories have the capacity to be good. You have to understand, though, that I'm the type of person who's favorite game is Silent Hill, favorite movies are Mezzo Forte and BB, but likes to listen to weird bands like Air and Interpol.
I just like the darker and more intense atmospheres in mature-rated movies. Bible Black, to me, is more than just a display of... well, you know. BB actually has some of the best character development I've ever seen. You always wonder what's going to happen next - since unlike your poppy teen-gendered animes that always have predictable happy endings, evil is almost always prevailing and there are few characters that are thriving as "goody-good" characters. You get more involved emotionally in the film and I like it when stories aren't always overflowing with Disney-esque happiness and concluding moments.

Since he is new I am assuming that he thinks anime is meant for kids like everyone else that has yey to watch a un-edited anime (not in englsih).
Well when you watch characters in action and not judge it on one picture then you will see what we mean as to why they are beautiful. Yeah the characters look different since you ahve not seen much anime to know how anime characters look like. It is a different art style then what you would see on American or European T.V.
No, I'm well aware of what anime is. I'm only "new" in the sense of contributing input to the anime boards here. I don't have cable TV, so I don't keep up with what popular TV promotes - although when I did, I found Cowboy Bebop to be the only interesting anime. If I wanted to watch a certain anime or movie in general - then I'll just order the entire DVD series; as I have done with Mezzo. Thus, "R" ratings come into play for me.
And I can very well notice what people are posting by way of pictures. The detail of a lot of the characters is pretty low, almost basic in artistic ability. Also, you must not have caught my reference to "lolic0n". I have to put the "0" in or it'll otherwise be censored. It seems obvious that people on these boards are interested in that look. That's really creepy... and I don't think one should use the term "beautiful" to describe such characters. Maybe b/c most here are under the age of 15, it appears okay - but I'm almost 20 now and that's a little out of my range of interest. When all the main characters are younger than me - then I care less about it. The only obssesive exception I have ever made to this is the woman that is my icon.
Ok, you seem like the person that likes some type of anime but finds it weird anyways. Don't worry, I know a few people like that. Thy just find it weird because it is a cartoon but for kids. That is why we do not call it animation but anime.
Most people do watch anime on T.V. when you get a chance and it is english dubbed but I am pretty sure that all people go on the internet to search for the shows that are in japanese and have english subs. Those are most of the time, the ones that do not come to the U.S., South America, or England(or anyother place) because it is too graphics for certain people.
Anime is such an artistic piece of work that many people notice all over the world. I really don't get why you think the quality is low but most anime has a great art style and the character's look amazing. You try drawing those characters and see if it was so easy to do. People took time to make those characters look the best that they can look in the shows that they are in. It must just be that you watch the Super Happy or the low animes with the characters looking weird because it is meant for that show.
It really is not creppy to find a work of art beautiful.
You are right that people that watch anime start at 13 or so when they get interested in anime but the average age of people that watch anime is from 14 to people in their 50's. Age should not stop people from watching it. People do find it weird that because they think because it is a form of a cartoon that it isfor kids but when you actually watch an anime (more then one series) then you see that kids should not be watching it unless it is edited. Try watching Black Lagoon. Let a kid watch that and no good will come from it.

Mezzo Forte & Bibble Black = **bleep**, not R-Rated Anime, its called **bleep**.
Now the anime Mezzo *not mezzo forte* is an anime thats not 'pron'.
Anyways, i'll have to go with, Revy from Black Lagoon

Mezzo Forte, minus like, 2 scenes, passes off as your everyday 'action' anime. Those 2 scenes don't really have an impact on the story so that's why a version was released without them. Same for it's 'sister' anime, 'Kite'. There are a few suggestive scenes but it's all the same if you take them out. It's really aimed to be an 'action' anime.
Bible Black on the other hand is an H-Anime of course but it's more of a complete package: a story to follow, great animation, and VAs. That's why it's lasted for...14 episodes with 2-3 Specials.
You know what? How the hell did we get on this subject?

I'm not sure what you placed in the "**bleep**" area, but it's definitely not what you're suggesting it is. Mezzo Forte only has two scenes, and it's the younger audience like yourself that gets all upset about it. I doesn't personally both me in the slightest. The character development in that film is awesome, and the animation and action (like the gun-fights and overall fighting), are great.
As for BB - so what? It still has great character development and I'll be damned if you say the aritsts behind it are not some of the best out there. You forget that adult movies still have storylines and while most of them are lame - the one in BB is awesome, as with a number of h-flicks. H-flicks are still animes... and don't forget it.
Since we're straying quite aways off topic, you should just lay this tanget to rest. As usual, people will get all giddy b/c they find the entertainment "disgusting". Well, I changed my sig just for you bud.
