Yeah, the I can see that the problem with a game like this is dealing with fast paced sequences. If you're suddenly ambushed, and you start telling her to "shoot" or "block" and she starts hopping on one leg as she's mauled to death, the game will get frustrating very quickly.
Even in slower sequences, errors in interpretation can really mess you up. I'm not sure if this was the same review I read, but the one I read mentioned that she kept consuming and wasting health packs when she misinterpreted what the player wanted. If health is very rare in the game, I would be pissed if this kept happening...
