Have been looking all across the internets and can't seem to find controls for Darksiders II. I know there is a way to block but I can't remember.  

So, any protips on how to block? Is it just L1?

Nope. No blocking. You can only dodge attacks. It's a pain when you have several enemies attacking at once. I always take damage no matter what I do.

For future reference, you can go here http://www.thq.com/manual, you select your system and game, then you can view the online manual for darksiders 2, it lists all controls and some other info.

Awesome, thanks. The manual is pretty nice. I guess I just forgot you can't block. However, I do know you can evade then counter attack, just like the previous game, but I haven't really been able to do it. Any ideas? The manual doesn't explain it. I just know  you are supposed to evade at just the right moment.

I don`t know them off hand, however did you buy the combat upgrades, if so you can go in the menu with select, and move the page over and you will get to a screen with all combat moves you have unlocked.

I do know one move, is to hit the evade button, then hit the attack button to throw your scythe in the direction you evaded

Oh yeah, I made sure to buy them all as soon as possible, so I did actually see how to do the evade move right after posting. It just took me a long time practicing with the small easy dudes from The Fjord. I did eventually get it down. You basically have to evade just before the guy hits you. It's pretty tough, but is worthwhile.
