It seems to be a general hardware failure

it comes up when something inside the PS3 is not working, for example if you try turning on

the PS3 with the USB readers unplugged you get the YLOD, once you plug them in it works again

On the other system I know that the rrod is a seperation of the x clamp fromn the motherboard due to crappy glue and.... MADE IN CHINA!!

You're better off just getting a new one. You can't do much about it. I mean you can take it all apart and put on new thermal paste and put it all back together but that is no guarantee it's gonna work.
