Pre-order bonuses (golden guns, etc.) as DLC? yea/nay and why

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Multiplayer Forum is for posts about competitive and cooperative multiplayer -- anything else goes in General Discussion.
I've seen more than a couple threads and definitely a bunch of posts debating both having the pre-order bonuses in the GOTY Edition, and also whether or not they should be released as DLC.
So I got to thinking, if we could do that, would you want those items released as (presumably paid) DLC?
To recap, they are:
Don't discuss if it's actually worthwhile to pay for these -- that's NOT the question, just if you would want or if it would be okay to make the available. They were previously described as "exclusive pre-order" bonuses and that's what I'm wondering, what if they were not longer relatively exclusive, but available to anybody who wanted to plunk down some cash.
I'll be moderating this thread somewhat strictly if I have to, to keep the conversation on track.
I want:
If I hadn't already bought the GOTY edition, I would totally pay for golden guns as DLC.
I think they've been exclusive long enough to the people who got them as pre-order bonuses. Other people who want them, should be able to have them now.
Golden Guns throughout the match would be cool.
I'm extremely happy with my golden guns and we've had them exclusively for longer than most games consider them "exclusive".
I think it's time for more people to have the chance to get them, without paying for an entirely new disc.

That's all very interesting, i mean I know they're just colored weapons, but we'll have nothing left that was "exclusive" whereas more than half of games released in the past year have kept their exclusive as exclusive.
Would you believe us if we said something was exclusive in the future?
And thanks for doing this excercise with me. ![]()

Well, you've already broken the 'exclusive' thing when you released the GOTY edition. However, someone like me who loves pre-order bonuses knows that most, if not all of the time they are released again one time or another (or at least it feels that way)
So, as far as my definition of 'exclusive' goes... you have met and exceeded the requirements. I'm sure that many people would disagree with me though.
Ahh... NaughtyDog I'm gone really hate you if I'll see ten players (tough you did that on the Best of Lab with Plunder Pistols only) with golden guns seriously NO
.
Get the goty edition if you want golden seriously (I didn't bought Uncharted 2 Limited Edition for 70 euros and after a year get released for only 3-4 $)
EDIT: I still remember wich exclusive skins got in Siege Expansion Pack (You know wich
)
Got my Golden Guns pre-ordering from Best Buy, because I knew back then that this is the only long lasting benefit. But 1 year of exclusivity is plenty enough. I wouldn't mind other people being able to pay for these at this point, if it means ND will have more cash for making my online experience better.
I'd say yes immediately if not for the GOTY edition's voucher. Some of us (me) were actually nuts enough to buy it for the voucher alone.
However, since those nuts are a very low percentage of the population (I certainly don't represent anything resembling a majority viewpoint at least), give it a couple months and even I wouldn't care. It was bound to happen anyway, I just refused to wait any longer.
In fact, why not release the bonuses for Christmas week, but for that day only, make them a free download? Is that possible? DCW + free GG's to whoever wants them on 12/25 would be wonderful.
I believe all available content should be made available to all persons after a while.
I knew nothing about this game, because when it released, I did not have a New Gen console. Therefore, I wasn't in the market to pre-order.
I missed the EoI material, and now it's unavailable to me.
I would like to support the company, I would like to be able to get cool stuff.
I do understand that pre-order EXCLUSIVES that are later made available are basically the company lying to consumers.
Pay money now, ensure our pre-sales, get this reward for only you! (not)
Tough decision, especially since I wouldn't pay for Golden Guns, anyway.
Make it all available, but don't lie beforehand.

I would definitely believe you - you've kept these guns exclusive for a year - a lot longer than I would have expected. I do think Navarro was released too early (should've been at least 6 months), but 1 year is enough.

These types of things, especially so long after release, aren't "real" revenue streams. They would make money, but it's not really impactful in that way and we could easily replace the amount of revenue with other kinds of releases if we felt it was about money. It's more of whether or not it's a good idea or beneficial to our community to release them.
