PS2 IP Address???

I need my ps2 to go through a dmz so that i can talk on s3. The only problem is they want the ps2's ip address...does a ps2 have an ip address? and if so, how do i figure out what mine is?

Did you refer to the FAQ?

Im pretty sure your ps2's local Ip address is the same as your routers, but im not entirely sure.

In your router settings, go to the device list or your DHCP Clients table.  It will show the Local IP Addresses of your network, go by the process of elimination to find it.

Turn off your Playstation 2, and go into your DHCP Clients Table.  Turn on your Playstation 2 and go online.  Refresh the Clients Table and the newest IP Address should be your Playstation's.

Yes, leave your Playstation 2 connected to your network during the instructions I typed above.

Close but not the same. You can look on your routers "DHCP Clients" list and look for a MAC starting with 00-04.

Or you can give your PS2 a static IP# by making a netconfig file using manual settings. Then enable DMZ'ing to that IP#.

Settings for the PS2 would look like...

PS2 IP# = xxx.xxx.xxx.254 (use the same first three octets from your routers IP#. If your routers IP# is 192.168.0.1 use 192.168.0.254)

Default router = Your routers IP#

Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0 (if you have a static public IP# this may be different)

1st & 2nd DNS = Check the router and enter those #'s or you can use public DNS servers 4.2.2.1 - 4.2.2.5

Then enable DMZ to .254 and save settings at the router...

You quit?  It didn't work after all the suggestions?  Did you try plugging directly into your modem and playing then?  There wouldn't be any messing with ports then.

    Re: PS2 IP Address???
i tried EVERYTHING spent 3 days working on this, talked to my router company, emailed playstation and talked to people on these forums. I cant stand it anymore. id rather spend my time just playing s3 with an unworkable mic.

Also i cant just plug my ps2 directly into my modem because we have a phone company similar to vonage which means we have to have the router plugged in, in order to recieve calls
