My PS4 hard drive is about to be full, What do I do?

Right now I got about 6 ganes on my 500GB PS4 Slim. Right now I dont know whether to delete my games like war thunder and battlefield 4. I know I can buy a large hard drive.I just want to know if COD WW2 can fit in a 156.3 GB enough space left. If not then I hace to delete a few games and start saving up for a new hard drive.

  • We have always had the option to change the internal hard drive, which can be tricky for some. Now we have the option to use an external hard drive. It's a pretty easy process. Do a search for which hard drive is best for you and how to use it.

  • Check the Sony store. That will tell you now many gigs a game takes.

  • Can any hard drives work? COD WW2 takes up about somewhere in the 40s

  • Here is an interesting article... Your gona need 80 gigs just to start, yet remember anything you download for DLC will add to this as well...

This is the offical Playstation site instructions, however there are a few things missing from it... my buddy who did his last year pointed out, they forgot to add make sure you back up before doing this... you might want to invest in an external drive as well... it might make the replacement less painful lol...

Heres an Article by IGN that can help with the replacement of the HDD... and a video... I personally suggest the Solid State Hard Disk drive, they work faster and are less likely to break as easy... and those Seagates are awesome sauce, I also like Western Digitals which are not listed, yet they have always done well in my PS3s plus they are decently priced...

  • Get a  external harddrive. Between my 500Gb launch system and my 4TB external harddrive i have over 100 installed.

  • You basically have 2 options, my preferred option which is to switch out the internal storage, or the option of buying an external HDD. If switching the hard drive out, I would suggest this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLBJgmoDp7I I'm new to the forums so if that link doesn't work, tell me. Anyway, just follow the instructions to take out your systems harddrive, then back it up somewhere, I believe with ps plus you can backup game saves to the cloud and then just redownload games? Anyway you can figure that out. Your then going to need a new harddrive, I would personally suggest this one: https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-FireCuda-2-5-Inch-Notebooks-ST2000LX001/dp/B01M1NHCZT It's 2 terabytes for $94 dollars and it's nice quality from a known brand. The video will walk you through the process of putting it back in and getting everything set up. If going with option number 2, I suggest your refer to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKC-IprTfVM Watch this video once you have the harddrive and it should be pretty easy to setup. By the way here are two recommendations for external drives: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00TKFEE5S/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all or this one if you need 5 tbs of space: https://www.amazon.com/Seagate-Expansion-Desktop-External-STEB5000100/dp/B00TKFEEBW Anyway, like the other people said, COD will take somewhere between 60 - 80 Gbs + DLC so its probably a good time to upgrade.

If you can use a screwdriver, you can change the hard drive.

  • Go buy a 2 TB at Walmart for PS4 Pro or PS4

  • With Black Fridaya round the corner I'd be eyeing a 8TB External Drive....I got a WD 8TB when it was on sale for around $130.00....that'a like $15.00 per TB. I wouldn't even think of less than a 4TB right now especially if you have one of the older models that has the 500gb. By the way I have a launch PS4 and I upgraded to a Hybrid 1TB and that didn't take long to start filling and went with the 8TB External and have more breathing room for a long time. Just move all your old stuff over, keep what you want to play the most on the internal, set future DL and games to external and don't worry about it.
