LittleBigPlanet Marvel Costume Pack delisted and not available for PS4 Download

In 2012, I purchased all 4 of the Marvel Costume Packs for LittleBigPlanet for PS3.

Fast forward today 2017, I purchased LittleBigPlanet 3 for the PS4 and started downloading my old Costume Packs, unfortunately the Marvel packs got delisted from the store and now I cannot download these packs to my PS4.

Sony customer service seems to have no idea either. Anyone know how?

Might have to request a refund/credit if there really isn't no other way to download these contents I purchased. Thanks.

  • I would think that the contract with Marvel either expired or simply wasn't offered for PS4. At any rate, you bought it in 2012 for PS3, what makes you think you should be entitled to a refund?

  • Lisencing  probably expired.

  • Having something you paid for taken away is a pretty big deal, unless its a monthly subscription or a service, he should get a refund.

He bought it five years ago for the PS3. Why should he get a refund because he can't use it on the PS4?

  • so.... play it on your PS3?

  • Nothing was "Taken away" The OP bought the PS3 version and he recieved it. He had it for 5 years, and now he wants the PS4 version, which apparantly is not being offered. Who took away his PS3 verson? He bought it and still has it, right? He had to buy the game again for the PS4, if they still offered the costume pack, he would have to buy that again for the PS4. The problem is, they simply aren't offering it anymore. He wants to use the PS3 version on the PS4. That aint happening. Nobody took away what he bought, which was the PS3 version.

Is that too hard for people to understand?

I can tell you're not an LBP player.

  • I have played LBP, but I am a realist. PS3 and PS4 versons are simply not compatible with each other.

And Marvel is branded content. It is absolutely subject to contract terrm. 5 years is way too long to expect a continued entitlement for game content of any type.

Why?  He paid for PS3 content and can still play it on PS3.  Nothing was "taken away".

  • :^/ Disney purchased Marvel. That probably affected many existing licenses between Marvel and their various business partners.

My son and I have been waiting to see whether the Marvel Little Big Planet content would return to the PS Store. We had purchased some of it on PS3, but the rest is not available right now.

The Killzone and Pirates of the Caribbean content from that same day and age is still available, so there is precedent. Content is also transferable forward from Little Big Planet to LBP 2, to LBP 3. It's just how the games were designed. Likewise with the migration from PS3 to PS4. My collection of DLC songs for RockSmith on PS3 continues to be available for RockSmith 2014 Remastered on PS4. Retaining compatibility with the users' existing DLC collection is how the publisher addresses what would have been a resistance to upgrade the software.

:^/ No, there is every reason to expect to be able to re-download previous purchases. However, instead of checking PS Store for the content, try checking your Purchase History on the PS4's menu: Settings>Account Management>Account Information>Wallet>Transaction History. This page will show the Date, Description and Amount of each transaction you have made from the PS Store, though the Description only says either "Product Purchase" or "Wallet Funding." You must open each one for more details.

Mine shows many things that I purchased on PSHome, so PS3 stuff is in that history. Oddly, it doesn't go back as far as it should. Settings>Account Management>Account Information>Services List goes further.

If you've played it, you should know that the costumes are transferable from LBP to LBP, as Danger_Dad has stated in his comment.

And as I stated in my original comment, I don't agree that he should receive a refund for something that he bought on the PS3 and wants to use on the PS4, as --  obviously -- he used it on the PS3.
