Good games with Character Customization

The last topic was back in 2015, so I'm making a new thread rather than bringing one back from the dead.

I know of the titles such as the soulsborns, dragon ages, mass effects, saints rows, TES, and Fallouts. I don't have PSNow and have no plans on getting it. I have plenty of subscription services as is. Unless it's coming out in a month at the latest, I'm uninterested in games that haven't been released yet. I'm looking for games I can buy and play now, or relatively soon, on my PS4.

Thanks for the help you can provide.

  • Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen has a decent character creation it’s an rpg that was on ps3 but they came out with a remaster for the PS4 while back.

  • I agree with what @XrazgarX has stated concerning Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen. Several character creation choice options are available during character creation.

The Pawn System, which the game is known for is basically your companion in the game. Pawns also need to be created a bit later in the game via the character creation process.

  • @XrazgarX and @Black_MagicWoman I remember that back on the PS3. They released it as a PS+ game, so I was able to play it despite being broke at the time. One of the best PS+ games to date honestly. I'd forgotten there was a remaster.

  • Watch for Black Desert online to come to the PS4. Best character creator I have ever seen. Provided the PS4 version measures up to the PC version.

  • That recent Everybodys Golf game has a decent character customization tool. You can create regular looking avatars, or toony type characters. And you can edit, copy your characters. I think up to 8 characters. It is not as advanced as Fallout 4, but it is still nice, and has personality settings and gestures.

  • Everyone including the OP has pretty much mentioned every good game I can think of where you can customize (check your spelling OP) your character. But I cast a vote for Dragon's dogma as well since it's the only one you didnt' mention. Well... there's Dragonball Xenoverse, but I havent' even played it yet. Hellish backlog....

  • @Cloud__Rules I appreciate the tip. I hadn't even noticed the error.

  • It is a dead feature in this generation. In dark souls games it is so bad that it doesnt count. I tried some free multiplayer games and it costs to get gear and options

  • Borderlands 2 is fun to customize... its mostly outward appearance and you have to earn or find everything, yet if you really get into the game you get alot of options!

Metal Gear solid V Phantom pain has an ok Custimization... sadly it is only for Male avitars, however you can play as a female and there are quite a few female faces and nationalities...

I heard Fallout 4 had some good custimizations Yet I haven't had a chance to try it yet... and Also Saints Row the Third, which I tried and then realized it was to much like GTAV...

I made a pretty good one with Dragon Age on the PS4 yet the game play was single player only really, except for a wierd 4 player dungon so I didn't get into that one like I thought I would either...

Rockband 2 and 3 were pretty cool with the Custimizations, Im not sure about 4 yet... or Rivals... Haven't had the chance to try them yet...
