Forums need fixing badly.

Come on Sony or whom ever runs these forums. Please fix them already. All these issue. hit reply button nothing happens not even a flash of screen or flash up in the tab that says the sights info on it to show it dd somethng. try again and then find your post posted 90 times in the thread. The update was a cool i dea but its a flop. Ya killed the forums and what it use to be, what makes it so bad is the forums dont even work right. Not just missing features. The basic things a forum needs to do doesnt even work right here. Yet no one is doing a thing about it to update it or fix it. Customers will love to see this after XMAS when they have questions and problemns and are told to come here. Seeing it dont even work. May even loose customers with returns. Its been here for months and not even the basics have been fixed. Either fix it or let it die already. In the consition it is in. 90% of the users are gone and you wil only push more people away such as new customers with issues due to it being in the crap stage it is in right now.

  • Even doing this i had to hit the button ounce with no update on my screen of anything happening. I had to open a whole new page to see if the thread was made so I didnt flood the forums. Please fix this place already!!!

The issue of no notification of a successful forum post was reported to the point person last week.  Definitely a new phenomenon, with the screen not refreshing.  No idea how long it will take to track down the issue, hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

  • You could just not spam the reply button 90 times after each post...  it only seems like a few people are having trouble with this.

  • @Black0Panther I have noticed that sometimes you need to open several new tabs before the post will register. Even when you edit your post the same thing applies.

What I do is click once, and only once on the original post. Then I open a new tab to check. Sometimes that is all it takes, but if nothing registers I close the new tab and then open another new one. I have had posts that took up to 5 tries to register.

I did this even back when the old forum was in place. Though it may seem somewhat of a nuisance, it does drastically lower multiple posts.

  • They've had how long now to give us a working forum, and there still are no major improvements here?  I personally do not believe anyone cares about this place in accordance to whoever is running it, and I also personally do not believe these forums are going to continue much longer.

  • @Black0Panther there is a forum feedback section please post this there so they can ignore it and do nothing. No use posting it here if it's not obvious to even the most optimistic of posters at this point. THEY DON'T CARE!

You can also check your post history in the meantime, ,even if it doesn't show up on the fourms right away, the post history will show the post. You could open it in a new tab, and when you post, if the button doesn't respond, refresh the post history tab and it will show you if it posted or not.

  • chaos_789 How do you check your post history? Oh NM this forum is still broke/garbage and I can't click my name in the top right of the forum to bring up my post history. Looks like I have to make a post in a thread and then click my name in that thread to bring open my recent posts how stupid is that! Black0Panther I never thought the US forum team sucks this hard at making a new forum!! It's obvious they just don't care about this forum anymore and the defenders on here are a good lol but we know the truth so sit back and lol and bash this forum team when and where you see a thread like this pop on up as it's just sad, nothing more, nothing less just the Randy March crap of a forum we have now lol!

  • Sony Playstation (SCEE especially) seems to want to kill off these user forums.

Every change is for the worst. It has been a death of a thousand cuts.

  • Yep these forums are total trash. I tend to have spamming issues when I use my phone to post here. For what ever reason I don’t have the issue on my pc. That said what ever keyboard jockies run this crap site need to all be fired. I’m sick of having to copy and pasting what ever I say when I want to post something to make sure I don’t spam. And that’s not even a gaurntee that I won’t spam.

    @fostermacation

As you said, you can check it by clicking on your name in any post you posted, alternatively you can also add your user name to the end of this link, here is your post history as an example https://community.playstation.com/content/pdc/us/en_US/pdc-communities/profile.html?psnHandle=fostermacation

In either case, even when the fourm glitches or something and the post button doesn't work, or your post doesn't show, the post history will show it. You can bookmark the link to make it easier in the meantime, at least until they add in more fixes and features to the forums.

@BlackOPanther  I've run into the same problem with posts as of late. Pressing the Reply button and then opening up a new tab to see if it posted ok and that kind of thing. It's rather annoying.

  • Problem is some posts dont show up till several minutes later at times as well. Again with no screen update or anything.

I'm glad they fixed the postin gissue. We used to be able to notify them about issues,a nd they got fixed in a reasonable amount of time. With the new forums I don't know how to report issues outside of the forum feedback.

  • Hey @TwinDad I had the same question a while ago... the answer from @kisuma1  was a great one... I messaged one of them and the issue was looked into... here is a thread where I got the Answer... look at the time stamp 10/28/2017 - 06:34pm

    https://community.playstation.com/content/pdc/us/en_US/pdc-communities/playstation-forums-feedback.topic.html/very_dangerous_glitc-hICx.html

Also I think it would be great to have a floated offical thread with this kinda info in it... it would help a lot of community members... and help the community help the Developers of the forums greatly I think... or maybe it would just back fire and clog up the communication more... I am not sure at this point...

  • I was thinking about this today, @TwinDad... You are an MVP, and I have a buddy who was having issues, and hes an MVP too... why do you guys and gals not know how to report stuffs? (kisuma1 did yet Still wasnt sure which one or if the info was completely right...)  There really should be a Thread on it... or even just a Private PM to all the MVPs and such to give this a better direction...

Although thinking about it, I guess keeping a personal relationship (professional of course) out of the Loop might be a good idea seeing all the problems I have seen on the forums in the past decade... I do have to admit, that even though there has been some trolling, and a bit of Spamming since the Change over, it is no where near how bad it was at the Start of the year and for the past 5 - 10 years... so that I think is one really good things to come out of this massive change... It seems that there does not seem to be any conflict of interest atm... and that would be a great way to keep it...

However I do think that you all who are MVPs should have a central way to report issues in priviate, maybe as a group? I am not sure how much you all get together (or get along for that matter), I do notice that you all seem to do your own thing, meeting in threads here and there, yet maybe there would be a great benifit from having a Private Chain PM or meeting once a month or Once a week between you all to try and Figure this stuff out and maybe even Vote or something on what should be passed along as a collective group... You might even find that some of you share gaming intrests...

Anyway, I think this would be a great way for you to help yourselves, help the community, and keep the MODs and DEVS away from any conflict of intrest... maybe all write aThread together that is a read only by mvps (like a private section... which I have heard of and have seen a long time ago...) a Thread that non MVPs can not post in or a private monthly discussion PM...?

  • Oh....they do care....

We now have a like button....

    The improvements never stop.

@Patchex, there is a "system", I use it.  And there is a community accessible on the PS4 for MVP Support members.  You just think that every "glitch" you bring up should be addressed immediately.  Unfortunately it is all too clear that SONY no longer sees these forums as the priority they used to be and that moving threads, or adding features is not going to happen when you want.

The problem of posts not seeming to occur was reported, by me via PM, late last week and fixed within a couple of business days.  Flagged threads usually get handled quickly enough.

  • :^, The forum still isn't finished, but I have noticed today that the Kudos/Likes system is back. To the right of each post is a Thumbs Up icon with a number below it.

Soooo, things are still moving forward. -albeit, slowly....

  • @vfr_800_rider

Its good to know there is a "System" in place... Maybe you guys and gals could reach out to the rest of the MVPs that do not know about them?

Also its not about what I want... its more about what OUR community needs in a timely maner...
