I believe they used the face of 2 with a mix of 1

But which one do you like?

I like 3

  • I would be fine with 2 or 3 but they probably chose 2 because it's the most iconic.

  • Superbot has taken characters in their prime. Also, a lot of fans believe that 2 was the best of the entire series.

    That's because it was.

  • I'd go with 1, but I understand going with 2.

That's subjective. Others believe that 3 was the best. Either way, they're both fantastic games.

Agreed, but since it was rushed it came out with a lot problems.

  • They used Uncharted 2, yes it was the most acclaimed and won more awards then 3, but Drake's appearance in 3 is the best not only because of the graphics but I find his facial structure to be more prominent and I wished they used 3's appearance.

  • They didn't use Uncharted 3's because Uncharted 3 wasn't deep in development at the time of PSAS's, and likely Drake's, development. That's literally the only reason that there is. With characters with an active series, the trend is the game that's released or is farthest in development at the time that is closest to this game's development is the one they go with (Ratchet, Drake, Heihachi [Tekken Tag 2 was in development before 2010], Dante [DmC was in development before 2010 as well], and Sly to name a few).

I can't think of an exception to the rule as far as active series go. Kratos is an amalgamation of his characters, but is still the closest to an exception as he resembles his GoW II model more than his III model to me. I personally don't think it's about the character's prime (Ratchet's not based on his UYA model, after all), but which one was the easiest to develop at the time/the most recent. Which would, back on topic, be Uncharted 2 Drake.

Edit: Again, this is for active characters.  I do believe it's more about prime with the "dead" series characters.

  • I think 1 and 3 resemble each other 2 is way out there

  • In my opinion 2 was the best. I loved 3 but overall liked the maps for multiplayer better in 2. Only thing that bothered me in 3 was the sound of the guns they sounded awful.

  • In my opinion Uncharted 3 felt more well made (technically speaking), some of the mechanics were just insane and the graphics were pretty stunning (kinda what you'd expect from a later game) - That said I only played it a few months ago so any early issues people had I probably missed.

Uncharted 2 though was definitly my favourite. Might not have been quite as good of a game (**bleep** close though) but it was more fun and the story seemed way better.

  • Uncharted 3 was **bleep** compared to UC2. The story was lame, there were no "Holy Crap!!!" set-piece moments - because ND showcased every last one of them in previews and trailers, there was a strange white aura surrounding everyone which made it weird, and Drake handled like a drunk guy on a unicycle.

  • To weigh in on the whole UC2 vs UC3 debate, I'm definitely someone who prefers the second game.

Too many things bugged me about UC3. The ship section could have been removed without affecting anything around it, and was clearly added because someone wanted Drake on a sinking ship but they couldn't figure out how to implement it into the story properly.

Not enough was put into the history of Drake and Sully, although the game was set up as if it was going to. Sully's connection with Marlowe could have been expanded a little too.

What was up with that revelation that Nathan Drake isn't his real name? Oh, that's never going to come up again? OK

Where were the big Indiana Jones style supernatural elements at the end of the storyline? In UC1 we got slippery naked men (as Drake called them in his journal) and in UC2 we got yetis. UC3 was building up to a fight with a DJINN and what happened? Nate just sent the lamp to the bottom of a lake and the final boss was just a rather drab fist fight with Talbot. My genuine reaction when the "finished the game" trophy notification popped up in the final cutscene was "wait, that was IT?!"

UC2 just genuinely felt like a more complete package and therefore a more coherent experience. Hell, even Naughty Dog admitted they felt the game was a little rushed, and it shows.

  • Uncharted 2 is my favourite game of the series no doubt about that, but I still appreciate Uncharted 3 as a successor in the series. Gameplay was solid, graphics were gorgeous and the set pieces were monumental if not a little predictable. It's unfortunate that the story wore a little thin but I enjoyed Uncharted 3 a lot and would recommend it to any gamer without a doubt.

i felt the same way on the second spoiler, but after playing the game again on crushing, the game is really good. (considering i haven't played uncharted 2 since the summer before uc3 came out). also, the boat is the hardest part on crushing so far. the guy with the machine gun, gets me EVERY time.

  • 3's cool.

  • 2 is for the story, 3 is for the multiplayer experience.

Sincerely I loved UC2 but UC3 just had more options and was more solid.

    ^ This

Could barely sit through some portions of UC3's story.

But the Multiplayer is really good, better than Uncharted 2's, even.

If ND made health normal in U2 again, I'm sure U3 would be dead.

  • For multiplayer - Uncharted 2 was better for coop, Uncharted 3 was better for competitive.

I know U3s got more options and all, but there was just something about U2s coop that kept me coming back.
