To all who complains about Jak's meter gain.

Okay, I'm sure some of you are all: ''Oh no, another rant thread! Reportreportreportreportreportreport''.

Well...

...No.

Does anyone remembered the link that led you to some strategy guide scans? To those that don't remember, have the link: http://jugg4n4ut.imgur.com/

I saw the album about Jak. Then, I saw about the threads about how much his meter gain sucks. Then, upon this image...

First Jak Scan

You might have saw this:

''Jak has several area of effect attacks, and those should be used as Jak's best route toward rapidly gaining AP.''

Basically meaning Jak is best at either 3vs1, FFA and 2v2, since that would give him more people to tear apart. The AP gain of a AoE attack on a single target is weaksauce, I agree with that. But hey, there is a reason why some attacks can hit multiple targets, but have low AP gain. It's meant to hit crowded opponents.

With that said, he's, unfortunately, utterly easy to wreck in 1v1. Mostly because his combos, at best, make, what, 45? 55? That, and with a weaksauce Level 1 (against airborne enemies and people that are above you due to a platform, that's another story), a rather predictable Level 2 (even Sackboy, who is camping in one end of the arena, could see that coming) and, due to his low AP gain, a hard-to-obtain Level 3.

I think I should add more justifications, but I can't think of more. How about you?

  • Nice read but it's still outright laughable.

  • Yeah, I know. It's just a little reminder why Jak seems to get good crowd control capabilities, but have weaksauce AP gain to offset that.

  • Yes.

Actually I just tested this theory. People apparently just don't like using his floating-shooter thing. That thing with an AoE attack is like a full bar.

That, and it delivers another object to concentrate on, so if the opponent blocks it, it does chip damage.

When in doubt, check that out.

  • I hate how one of jaks best combos

up circle, up triangle and > circle only give 20 FREAKING AP

    like seriously?

his mass inverter should be 10 ap instead of 5

his peace maker should be 20 instead of 5

and his >O should be 10ap per shot hit= 30 total ap if all 3 shots hit.

  • That's basically why I focus on using the Gyro Buster and his BnB (Down O, > Square, Up Square for 45 AP). I know of a combo that delivers 55 AP (Down Square, Air Forward Square, Square), but I don't master the timing.

That combo isnt exactly easy to rely on.

jak could be so much better if the moves listed got a buff as well as his neutral triangle.(unless his neutral triangle is strictly meant for crowd control like everyone says it is)

  • With you having to do Down Circle at point blank and all... Wait, which one you mean? The BnB or the 55-AP one?

The first one, but the second one isnt easy to rely on either.

i dont care what the elitest say. even if you rock with jak, an underpowered character is still an underpowered character.

his best combo potential moves give too little ap.
