Pitching the idea

Let's face it, we'd all LOVE to see a sequel. But it'll be quite sometime if they actually decide to see the beauty of this game and make it into the franchise it deserves to be. So, what I'm asking is if anyone has attempted to pitch the idea of a Ps4 port of this game? I'm sure that this, along with a patch here and there to fix any issues/balancing, would whet our appetites for our highly anticipated sequel.

  • I don't want a PlayStation 4 port of this game.
I would love one final patch to this game that would rebalance all the characters.

However, in a tweet, Sony Santa Monica pretty much said that all they're going to do is keep the servers running and that's it.

  • Yeah a PS4 port and being free on PS would be awesome. But after that tweet I doubt it would happen. And its pretty obvious we all want another patch.

  • This game needs to be released for free on PlayStatation Plus and then patched one last time.

  • Port is too unrealistic. I say the best thing for this game would be putting it on Playstation Now, if we're talking about it ending up on PS4 in the most realistic way possible, since a port and remastered version aren't happening.

  • Plus, I wouldn't even want this game to be be ported to PS4.

I'm sort of sick of that anyway, I want purpose-built games for PS4 anyhow.

Some last gen games & series deserve remastered versions & ports on PS4 though.

  • When the game was on sale in June it was in the top 3 best selling PS3 games. I can't believe its been this long and the game still did not appear on the instant game collection.

  • I don't believe that.

I don't really care about graphics and seeing games that were already in HD being ported to PS4 so they can be slightly more HD. Plus, PASBR already ran in 60 FPS so it's kind of pointless.

  • It was the third best-selling downloadable game for PS3 in June, and don't forget that it reached that from only being on sale for one week. It was $9.99 and $4.99 with PlayStation Plus, respectively. Maybe Sony wanted to squeeze a bit more money out of the game before releasing it for free?

I'm sure that, across PS3 and PS Vita, All-Stars has to have sold about 2 million units worldwide. Shuhei Yoshida confirmed in June 2013 that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale sold "more than 1 million copies" and that was over a year ago so by now it must have sold better since then.
