Okay... I'm confused...

I'm not entirely sure who Polygon man is, all I know from reading things on the forums is: He's a failed ad campaign for the ps1. Now here's the thing I don't understand, If he is just a failed ad campaign, the why were so many people saying he should be the final boss (before the attract trailer)? Why is he of such significance that so many people want him to be the boss. And how come he IS the boss? (Keep in mind I have never seen any of the Polygon man commercials, so I'm not really sure how he would fit into the game. If anyone could clear this up for me, it would help out alot.

  • Who better to be the villain in a mascot fighting game than The original forgotten mascot?

  • Because.

Who cares, he's the boss and I'm sure they'll explain something when we're playing the game. They won't just say "oh well here yo go boss now fight"

  • Forgotten Mascot gathering the new age mascots, he seems like the only character that would have a motive for gathering them all together. And he's Godlike.

These are the only commercial that we have of him.

Here's why i think he makes such a good final boss.  He was created to show off how many polygons the playstation 1 could run smoothly.  He was going to be the mascot for the ps1 and, because he was created before the system came out, he's technically the first playstation 1 character, which means he's technically the first playstation character period.  But before his ad campaign took off, he was scrapped because the fans didn't find him likeable enough.

So just imagine this, all of these playstation stars, whom everyone loves, are brought together to be destroyed by the first ever playstation character, who was disliked and abandoned before playstation got its start.  It seems perfect to me!

  • I agree, makes a lot of sense. Actually if we start to think about it, it's the only explanation that makes sense to me...

  • Omar Kendall himself said why himself. I remember him saying something about how, for a game like this, it wouldn't be right to include a boss from a single game. They wanted something that represents the playstation itself. Polygon Man was all about the power of the PlayStation.

  • Essentially, this purple head was too weak to survive but a week, but has God-like abilities to rip characters out of their respective universes and make them fight in the Mortal Kom, I mean, PS All-Stars tournament.... Makes sense

  • The motive is there - he was set to be the official Sony mascot, who then got scrapped before final release...must suck to see all these big name character make it into the Playstation universe and not him.

  • Thank you for clearing it up :)

  • Anyone see Wreck it Ralph? Polygon Man is like the original spirit of PlayStation, but got stepped on, hidden away, and forgotten, but who says he ever truly left? Perhaps he's just been in your PS3, watching, waiting, until the moment he'd take his revenge on all the other PS All-Stars living in your PS3 system!
